Barbara Gant-Freeborn
President / Director
Born and raised in Fort Worth Texas to Rev Harold and Mrs. Mildred Gant of Sunshine
Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Barbara has lived in DFW area all her life.
Barbara graduate from Texas Christian University Bachelor Arts - Music and Minor in
Economics in 1990.
Barbara sang in Fort Worth Opera Chorus and Arlington Choral Society. She also assisted in
leading praise and worship for several different Christian groups over the years. Over the years,
Barbara worked as a freelance singer, wedding, funerals, etc. Barbara also sold real estate for
Century 21 and worked as a Process Specialist for Verizon in Irving.
Later after obtaining her series 6 and 63 securities license Barbara worked as Financial Analyst
for Primerica Financial Services where she rose to the position of Regional Leader.
Later Barbara worked for HEBISD as an Interventionist and Substitute Teacher with a focused
on special needs community. She worked parttime as a one on one care giver for a child with
IDD. Through her growing connections with the special needs community Barbara came to be
the Director at The Clubhouse for Special Needs, Inc. in Bedford in 2015.
Kent Hopkins
Chairman / Treasurer
Kent Hopkins co-founded the for clubhouse special needs with Darlene
Hollingsworth 16 years ago, and has provided financial consulting,
planning, and direction; and anything necessary to ensure the success
of a home away from home for special needs young people.
He has fifty years’ experience in accounting, taxes, and business
management. He served 15 years with Sherwin Williams and General
Electric, 5 years as partner in a CPA practice in Minnesota, 4 years as an
accounting manager for the City of Dallas, and 38 years as president of
Kent Accounting Systems in Euless, Texas. He is thankful to have the
support of community through his association with the Rotary Club, The
HEB Chamber of Commerce, The Churches, and the many contributing
organizations who have helped the Clubhouse for Special Needs.
Kent has been honored by the U.S Congress for serving our country in
the U.S. Navy in the early 1960’s, He flew in Patrol Squadron Nine as an
aviation electronics technician and radioman.
Having a vision for young people, he has a desire with God’s to help
them overcome their handicaps and develop academically, and socially
for a better quality of life.

Brandon R. Mattingly
Brandon R. Mattingly joined the Board of Directors for the Clubhouse for Special Needs in August 2023. He was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and moved to Texas in June 2022. Brandon is an active member of the Hurst Euless Bedford Chamber of Commerce. He has been in the real estate title industry for more than 20 years. He was named Vice President of Exams, Inc. in 2003 before founding BMatt, LLCin 2010. In August 2016, Brandon was named Pitching Coach for Asbury University, where he remained until 2021 when he was named Pitching Coach for Indiana University Southeast. He was a member of the 2022 River States Conference Regular Season and Conference Championship team.
As a college coach his time was split between skill development and personal development. He was as responsible for the development of the young man, as the athlete. Brandon also has experience serving with the Boys N’ Girls Club, the Miracle League, and Every1 Reads. He takes tremendous pride in the opportunity to serve the Clubhouse.
Brent Hildebrand
Brent grew up here in the mid-cities area, graduated from trinity high
school as have his children. Went To The University of Texas in
Arlington Business Administration studies 1988-1990 Diamond Roofing
Company began in the Euless area, our customers are all over Dallas/Fort
Worth and the surrounding communities. Brent’s desire to helping
others and friendship with Kent Hopkins cause him to fall in love with
the cause of the Clubhouse and the community we serve. Brent level of
integrity and business knowledge has made him a valuable member of the
board since 2020.
