So very proud of him!

Darlene J. Hollingsworth, Founder/President.

Darlene is a single mom with a 18 year old son, Jonathan [Down Syndrome].    Darlene was terminated from her 8-3 job because she couldn't give her employer 8 more hours a week -- She needed to be home for her son during the after-school hours. There are day-cares for the elementary kids and there are adult day habs for the older people but there was nothing for 13-22 year old kids in all of Northeast Tarrant County.  As a TV host said, "we bridge the gap." Thus, seeing a need for a place for teens and young adults, she started THE CLUBHOUSE FOR SPECIAL NEEDS in Bedford, Texas.   In less then one year: the concept, incorporated - 501c3, and opened the doors.  They currently have approximately 48 members throughout the various programs and are looking to expand to a larger facility in the near future [Actively FUNDRAISING]
